The team of the Max Planck Foundation’s start-up initiative combines several years of start-up and industry experience as well as know-how in the field of start-up support from academia. With our passion for innovation and its transfer in the Max Planck Society, we combine our competencies and skills to pave the way for your spin-off!
Since 2018, she has been advising potential start-ups and SMEs in the areas of technical and business model validation of innovative products, the generation of public funding, team building and management, and partner acquisition.
In addition to various further training courses on all aspects of the start-up process, she is a Certified Project Manager of the IAPM and in the area of agile project management.
In addition to her work for the foundation, she is doing her doctorate in the field of business model innovations for trend technologies.
Isabel Schulze has been working as a Technology Scout for the Max Planck Foundation since 2021.

Angela Grimmer has been working at the Max Planck Foundation since 2023.

Jan Schnorr has been working as a consultant for Startup Scouting for the Max Planck Foundation since 2020.
He co-founded a deep technology startup based on research during his PhD at MIT and built the company over 5 years as CTO and CEO respectively. Since early 2019, he has been advising other startups and founders on strategy, funding, team building, and technology development.
He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, USA and a Diploma in Chemistry from Goethe University Frankfurt. Between his diploma and PhD, he did research at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz.
