Rivercyte

Technology for Rapid Physical Phenotyping of Cells
Scientists from the Division Prof. Guck from the MPI for the Physics of Light founded the company Rivercyte together with the director in May 2022. There, the team combines years of experience in the fields of deformability cytometry, deep learning, hardware and software development to establish a novel technology for rapid physical phenotyping of cells. The core technology is based on a microfluidic chip through which cells flow and deform. An image of each cell is captured using high-speed microscopy and analyzed with AI-based software. With the developed technology, Rivercyte offers an invaluable tool for detecting abnormalities in cell samples and automating routine analysis procedures in life sciences and medicine.
